Gdańsk, Poland, 2010
The Museum of II World War should reflect in a clear way it's character and chronology. This was a continuous struggle from the beginning to the end and that is why the design of the museum is a continuous building and a continuous exhibition. The exhibition space ascends as the war becomes more difficult, demanding even greater efforts and sacrifices. The exhibition culminates with victory at the highest point of the building with the free view over the city of Gdańsk where the war began.
The form of the building is facilitating understanding of the nature of the II World War – its beginning, its continuous struggle and final victory as the continuous episode in Polish history.
